Sergio Scariolo

Sergio Scariolo, born April 1, 1961 in Brescia, Italy, is an influential basketball coach with a rich career.

He began his career in minibasket in 1980 and soon rose to roles of greater responsibility, most notably his success at Victoria Libertas Pesaro, where he won the scudetto in 1990.

His debut in the Spanish ACB League was with TAU Vitoria, achieving notable successes such as the 1999 Copa del Rey.

Subsequently, Sergio Scariolo coached Real Madrid and Unicaja Malaga, winning national titles. Scariolo has had an outstanding performance as Spain’s national coach, leading the team to multiple victories, including European and World Championships.

His success has also extended to NBA teams, such as the Toronto Raptors, with whom he won a championship in 2019 as an assistant coach.
