Zeljko Obradovic

Željko Obradović (Čačak, 1960) is a European basketball legend and the most successful coach in the history of the EuroLeague, a competition he has won nine times, an absolute record achieved with five different clubs.

After a brief spell as a player at KK Partizan, he began his coaching career with immediate impact: in 1992, he won the European Cup with Partizan in his first season as coach, one of the founding milestones of modern basketball. From there, he lifted the top continental title with Joventut Badalona (1994), Real Madrid Baloncesto (1995), Panathinaikos BC (2000, 2002, 2007, 2009, and 2011), and Fenerbahçe (2017).

His time at Panathinaikos marked an era: 11 Greek leagues and 7 cups, as well as five Euroleagues, consolidating a competitive model based on tactical discipline, maximum demands, and leadership down to the smallest detail. He then led Fenerbahçe to its first Euroleague, transforming the club into a sustained continental powerhouse.

At the national and international level, his track record includes league titles in Greece, Turkey, Yugoslavia, and the ABA League, two Saporta Cups, multiple cups and super cups, and individual awards such as Euroleague Coach of the Year. Until November 2025, he was the head coach of Partizan, closing a new cycle at the club that marked his origins as a coach.
